Yesterday I had the great privilege of styling a shoot for my friend Matt.
Matt is an amazingly talented photographer, as evident by his portfolio.
Matt and I have been working together since 2005, long before he became super cool 😉
He was interning under a photographer that I was assisting in LA, and we became fast friends.
We both have a love for fashion, pretty things, and academia (he is a UCLA business school grad). He is also a new daddy!
When he asked me to style a series of shoots for him and his new fashion portfolio, I of course said yes.
I contacted Ruche and they kindly sent over some amazing sample pieces for us to use for this first test.
I have always been a fan of their clothes.
They are feminine, good quality, and affordable.
Our model, Megan, definitely wore them well.
Matt and I are typically drawn to black and white photos (hence image #2…) but for this shoot we really wanted to try and break out of our comfort zone and do a pop of color with the backdrop in a studio setting.
It’s been a really long time since I have worked in the fashion world, but going back on my own terms and working with friends, in addition to having a more “normal?” job is the best balance for me.
Can’t wait to show you more tests in the days and months to come!
