chipped nail polish. blogger fail.
chicken fried steak with a fried egg on top, on a bed of home fries and smothered in a sausage gravy. DEAD.
full and happy
When I posted about Malibu Wines, Ashley, a blog reader of mine, told me about Malibu Cafe.
How I never knew about this amazing place is beyond me, since it was literally a few miles from my old house off of Kanan Road and Mullholland.
It is located at Calamigos Ranch, which I actually have been to a few times for weddings.
So seriously shame on me for never knowing Malibu Cafe existed there.
They only serve brunch on Sundays, so you need to make a reservation.
This place is seriously one of the best brunch spots I have ever been to, and I love me some brunch.
Seating is all outdoors, but it is covered by umbrellas and has little misters.
We were not uncomfortable at all.
The food is served upstairs in like a tree house?
That is the best way I can describe it.
Then below is a ton of outdoor seating with a bar and live band.
You can bring your dog (to the lower level only…no food is served downstairs) and it seemed like a great spot for kids too.
You can go paddle boating in the little lakes they have, fully equipped with waterfall.
But the food. omg the food. It is so good.
You can get bottomless mimosas for $15.
I feel like I can just end this post there.
But I won’t.
Because the food.
I ordered chicken fried steak, Stephen ordered the original eggs benedict, and we shared the Challah French toast.
gasp.
Mouth watering.
All of it.
We are going back again this Sunday and taking my mom and brother, and my bff Emily and her boyfriend Justin, because EVERYONE HAS TO EXPERIENCE IT.
I am thinking the next go around I am going to hit up the fried chicken and waffles… and also the Challah french toast again.
Because I have to.
Bring cash for Valet which is $6.00 I think it is the only available parking.
They also do lunch and dinner wednesday-saturday during the week.
If you go, let me know how you like it, and what you ordered, because I am totally one of those people that likes to know what everyone eats.
Thanks again Ashley for the heads up!
How have I never heard of this place before either? It sounds like heaven… on my next trip to Cali… this will be happening.
