One year ago today Stephen and I got engaged!
And America celebrated us with a fireworks show.
No big deal.
AND as fate would have it, yesterday America officially made Stephen a legal Alien.
We had his interview at the US embassy in London, a nerve wrecking experience for both of us.
But after exchanging paperwork, answering some questions, and taking an oath, Stephen was told his visa to live and work in the USA was approved.
The whole process has taken us exactly four months from start to finish, which in hindsight is very fast, except it feels like a lifetime when you are going through it.
Our immigration officer at the interview was pretty impressed with how fast we managed to go through the process.
I think the trick is to be really prepared and always one step ahead.
I have a whole post in the works for those who are going to embark on the journey themselves, or for anyone who is just curious.
But today we are FINALLY going to bust out the champagne and celebrate the anniversary of our engagement and this huge accomplishment.
USA here we come!
Yay! Congratulations! And that picture of you two is absolutely STUNNING! Probably should be in a magazine somewhere.
Happy fourth of July to you two!
